Shell 2030: The Future of Transportation

An Autonomous Three-Wheel Vehicle Designed for the Year 2030

The development of the future is among us. Every idea of us today can be a life-changing experience for others - tomorrow. That thought is always in my mind. I wanted to create a new type of vehicle that will fit the needs of the people. Without leaving footprints on the planet and using electric energy and as little space as possible on the road. Also developed to be a high-value safety transportation. Trying to fit car and bike advantages into one tool.

The Shell 2030, designed by Tamir Mizrahi, is an autonomous three-wheel transportation mean, designed for the year 2030. The vehicle can transport up to two people at a time and is designed to be a small type of city vehicle. It uses a new and innovative way to maneuver with a V-shaped triangular axle, making it a new type of transportation mean in terms of dimensions and properties. Beyond being a hi-tech transportation mean, it is meant to give the traveler a new experience of traveling, with its unique design, sitting position, way of maneuvering, and fully exposed panoramic view. The Shell 2030 is also designed to be a short-range car-sharing vehicle, in a new reality of friendly sustainable mobility.

The Shell 2030 is a tricycle with an autonomous system and a carbon chassis. It offers two riding or sitting positions, which are user-oriented. The vehicle is equipped with a brushed DC electric motor at the rear and a NiMH battery pack. The carbon frame ensures a lightweight yet sturdy structure.

With dimensions estimated to be 1,800 mm in height and 1,110 mm in width, and weighing 530 kg, the Shell 2030 is designed to be compact and agile, perfect for navigating crowded city streets. Its unique tilting axle allows for efficient turning and enhances the overall driving experience. The wheels are equipped with sensors that provide feedback to the driver, ensuring a safe and smooth ride.

This project started in June 2019 in Torino and was completed in September of the same year. It won the university contest at IAAD Torino and went on to represent the university at an international automotive design contest in Le Mans, France.

Through extensive research and study of future transportation trends and developments, Tamir Mizrahi was able to create a truly innovative and unique design. The challenge of creating a new transportation mean without compromising on other aspects was overcome through careful engineering and design considerations.

The Shell 2030 offers a fresh and interactive way of traveling in an era dominated by electric vehicles. Its ergonomic design takes inspiration from the organic shapes of seashells, providing a sense of safety and protection to the rider. The innovative tilt system, derived from the lower V scissors chassis, enhances maneuverability and creates a whole new user experience.

The Shell 2030 is a testament to the future of transportation, combining sustainability, innovation, and user-centric design. With its compact size, advanced technology, and unique features, it represents a new era of urban mobility.
